RTN. MUNTE CELEBRATED HER BIRHTDAY!


In lieu of our regular meeting, our club attended the 60th birthday of one of our member Ms. Munte Del Rosario. As always, we attended the party in full force supporting our RCMSL family member. With this type of activity, we are able to continuously strengthen the bonding of members of our club making our club stronger and very stable.

BAMBOO DONATION TO AETA COMMUNITY IN BATAAN

RCMSL donated 100 bamboos to the Aeta community at Brgy. Bayanbayan, Dinalupihan, Bataan. The Aeta community is the RCC of RC Makati Bonifacio. We were suppose to do the actual planting however the road going up the mountain is not passable due to the rains. We just had a ceremonial turn of the bamboo to Brgy. Captain Antonio Manuel and some katutubo. We would like to thank Gen. Yano of the Philippine Army for assisting us in transporting the bamboo from the farm of Dr. Primo Gonzales to the Dinalupihan Bataan. Representing General Yano is Lt. Villanueva. This is just an initial delivery of the bamboo. If it will be successful, we will donate more bamboo to the katutubo for their livelihood.

BOARD MEETING AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY


RCMSL had its 5th Board Meeting and 3rd General Assembly for RY2007-2008. The New members Night last October 25 was also our General Assembly. We intend to continue having board meeting and General assembly every month to discuss the direction of our club in meeting the requirements for the North Star Award. We intend to get the highest award from the district this year.

RI CONVENTION LAUNCHING

RCMSL is one of the 29 Host Clubs of the RI Convention Launching last Nov. 8, 2007. 13 members of our club attended the event. Initially there were only 218 pre-registered but the actual attendees were almost 400. US Ambassador Kristie Kenney graced the launching and acknowledge Rotary of helping poor people and living up to its ideals of Service Above Self.

LOVE FOR EARTH TREE PLANTING


RCMSL supported the district activity Love for Earth Tree planting at Libingan ng mga Bayani. There were 7 rotarians and 4 family members who attended the event. We really enjoyed getting our hands dirty while planting trees. We enjoyed it so much that we even planted the trees that other clubs were suppose to plant. This is a very worthwhile cause to spend our sunday with.

PARTNERSHIP WITH RC MAKATI BEL-AIR FOR GYNECOLOGICAL CANCER PREVENTION CAMPAIGN


Another partnership has been forged between RC Makati San Lorenzo and RC Makati Bel-Air for the info dissemination of our Gynecological Cancer Prevention Campaign. PP Carol Mercado was the guest speaker of RC Makati Bel-Air. PP Carol discussed how the campaign was conceptualize and what are the new developments in Gynecological Cancer Prevention. Pres. Erwyn and Pres. Rico had a MOA signing for this project.

HALLOWEEN PARTY AND NEW MEMBER'S NIGHT

Every year, our club celebrates Halloween party. During halloween party we usually have a concept or a custome that we are going to wear. This year its Black and Orange. This is also our new member's initiation night. Baby rotarians are given their initiation rites but its all fun - no paddling here. Being a member of RC Makati San Lorenzo is not only serious work but also a lot of FUN!

GOVERNOR'S VISIT



Gov. Ato Magadia visited our Club last October 18, 2007. He was accompanied by AG Paul Magno and AG Bonnie Vergel De Dios. We presented to him our plans and programs for RY2007-2008. He acknowledge us to be one of the clubs who submits MPR on time and is among the first club who's website was linked to the district website. During the Governor's visit our club endorsed to Gov. Ato our share to the Governor's Fund amounting to P11,100.00 for 37 members.

OCTOBERFEST AND DISCON LAUNCHING

RCMSL supported the District Octoberfest and Discon Launching. 10 members and 2 prospective members attended the event. We were give a sneak peak of what to expect during the Discon at SMX in Mall next year. PP Rachel Ocampo also give us a brief intro about RI Convention in LA. The venue was jampacked with Rotarians enjoying the beer and sausages.
