Bayan Ni Juan in Calauan Laguna






In support of the project of Gina Lopez, Kapit Bisig sa Ilog Pasig, seven club members accompanied by four other family and friends traveled to Calauan Laguna to visit the Bayan ni Juan relocation site. We participated in the interaction with settlers from Pasig River, viewed handicrafts done by out of school youths, vermi-culture project and viewed all other structures. Pres. Jing Sarao was asked to give an inspiration talk to the settlers. The club donated P50 thousand to the Pasig River project.

Rotary Community Corps Conference






This program is designed to create community corps to assist on-going Rotary programs. RCMSL’s RCC is established in Calawis, Antipolo to assist our club in carrying out our 3H Grant commitments. Three officers from Calawis RCC attended the meeting and were formally inducted.

Gunting Para sa Kabuhayan






The program was designed to train people of all ages on the skills of hair grooming, coloring, foot spa, nail polishing and massage. Business aspects were discussed for attendees to establish their business careers along hair grooming. RCMSL was one of the lead clubs. The program started on Sep 14 and will last till Sep 19.

Literacy Summit






Literacy Summit has the goal of increasing literacy amongst the marginalized poor children through Rotary. The summit showcased all the projects of each club. Pres. Jing Sarao introduced PDG Jimmy Cura, one of the 3 guest speakers for the summit. Part of the Literacy project is RCMSL’s adoption of Sibol School in Taguig and Tulong Aral sa Tuloy sa Don Bosco with Fr. Rocky.

August-September Birthday Celebrants





Birthday celebrants for August and September gathered together and enjoyed the food, drinks, laughter, fellowship and camaraderie at the Fort. The celebs were: Cynthia Reyes (Sep 9), Shelly Lazaro (21), Carol Mercado (22), Rangie Tantoco (26), and Marian Ong (27). August born likewise co-celebrated: Marilou Romero (Aug 21) and Nini Layug (22). Right after the fellowship, we all went to Heritage Park to attend the wake of Ricky Laurel’s father, Sotero Laurel organized by Yoli Ayson.

Regular Meeting - Fr. Larry Tan as Guest Speaker



The highlight of Fr. Larry Tan's talk is for all of us to emulate the spirit of selfless love towards others, just like Pres. Cory Aquino. In addition, for all us Rotarians to keep giving our time, talents and treasures for those who have less in life.

Joint Meeting wiht RC Makati, RC Makati West and RC Makati San Lorenzo






Joint meeting with RCMakati led by SVP Felix Amparo and RCM West led by SVP Fern Pena, our club co-hosed the visit of former President Joseph E. Estrada as our guest speaker. The forum was well attended and held in Manila Peninsula Hotel over noon time on September 8, 2009. Pres. Jing Sarao shared the RCMSL’s plans, goals and objectives during the President’s time. Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay introduced Pres. Erap. Rtn. Shelley Lazaro delivered the Invocation.

Memorandum of Agreement signing with members of other clubs, RCMSL inked commitments to support livelihood programs to teach others hair grooming as a business or career in cooperation with Loreal and Index Salon owners.

RCMSL met with Antipolo City Officials and partners for the Implementation of 3H Grant






The club went to Antipolo to meet with the City official and partners for the implementation of the 3H Grant. We met with Ronnie Leyble, Chief of Staff of Mayor Leyble of Antipolo and the Barangay officers of Calawis Antipolo. With us were SVP Roland Zurbano who would like to link with our club and Munte del Rosario. The Club donated nebulizer, CD containing gynecological cancer prevention and pamphlets.

3H Committee met with Dinky Soliman





Related to the 3H Grant, we met with Boy, the assistant of Dinky Soliman, to help the club implement 3H Grant in Antipolo particularly with the Dumagats. Boy is the one to visit the Dumagats and interact with the indigenous people to implement the project.

Literacy Summit Organizational Meeting



In preparation for the Literacy Summit to be held on September 10, at the Aerospace Museum, around 80 clubs in the District joined forces to carry out this project to showcase all the Literacy project that the District is supporting.

Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilong Pasig






Gina Lopez of ABS-CBN Foundation shared her vision of how best to clean the Pasig River. RCM San Lorenzo, RCM East and RCM Forbes led 10 other clubs in raising the level of awareness of the District on the worthwhile project of cleaning the Pasig River. After the presentation, our club donated a total of P50,000, other Rotarians, led by our members, submitted pledges to support the funds needed for the project.

Puerto Princesa and Narra Induction in Palawan






Planting trees, attending three (3) inductions for Rotary Club of Puerto Princesa, Narra and Narra Central were the highlights of our ventures in Palawan. PP Erwyn Alcomendras and PP Cynthia Reyes also attended the affairs in Palawan.
